Sesame Beef Burger with Pickled Slaw and Chips
Burger and Slaw!

Sesame Burger


Ingredients Qty.
Soy Sauce 8ml
Spring Onion 1
Cucumber 0.5
Carrot 1
Sriracha Sauce 15ml
Rice Vinegar 30ml
Low Fat Beef Mince 250g
Toasted Sesame Seeds 5g
Brioche Bun 2
White Potato 3
Mayo 30mg
Fresh Ginger 15g
Panko Bread Crumbs 30g


  1. Preheat the oven to 220c/200c (fan assisted)/ gas mark 7.
  2. Cut the potatoes - keep the skins on, these are your chips.
  3. Add the chips to a baking tray, drizzle oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Mix them around to ensure even coating and put in the oven for 25-30min (or until golden).
  5. Whilst the chips are cooking, trim and slice the spring onion and grate the ginger.
  6. Add the beef mince, spring onion, ginger, and bread crumbs to a bowl with 1tsp of sugar and a little pepper.
  7. Mix thoroughly.
  8. Divide the mixture into even patties and sprinke sesame seeds over the top.
  9. Put the patties in the over for 15-20 mins, ensuring there is no pink meat.
  10. Whilst the burgers and chips are cooking, add half the sriracha in a bowl with the rice vinegar and a pinch of salt.
  11. Peel and grate the carrot.
  12. Peel lengths of the cucumber into ribbons.
  13. Add the grated carrot and peeled cucumber to the bowl with the sriracha and rice vinegar and mix well and let it sit , this is your slaw.
  14. Cut the brioche buns in half [horizontally].
  15. Heat a large pan over a medium heat, add the sliced buns sliced side down for 3 mins or until lightly charred
  16. Mix the remaining sriracha with the mayo to make a spicy mayo for the burger
  17. Drain the liquid from the slaw.
  18. Serve.
